A Dream Sequence in Voertman Hall
In the Paul Voertman Music Hall, Music Composition junior Collin Huffman conducts the ensemble into a crescendo during dress rehearsal on Saturday, February 21. Huffman co-wrote this concerto, titled Variations on A Dream, with fellow junior music composition students Demetrius Robinson Jr. and Jilin Zhang.
Violinist Joseph Redding focuses on his bow as he plays Movement 3 from Variations on A Dream. This movement was written by Jilin Zhang, representing hopes and dreams for success.
UNT Music Performance senior Vincent Miravella plays the ending of Movement 2 of Variations on A Dream. This movement was written by Collin Huffman, meant to represent yearning and love.
Huffman conducts the ensemble as they rehearse Movement 3, written by Jilin Zhang. This concerto is comprised entirely of students, including a choir.
UNT student and flautist Melissa Bastidas-Westrick plays the beginning of Movement 3 of Variations on A Dream during the final dress rehearsal. The concerto was performed at 8 p.m. on Tuesday, February 24, in the Paul Voertman Music Hall.
UNT student and cellist Angelica Rodriguez Lanza reads the Variations on A Dream sheet music as she plays. The first movement in this concerto was written by Music Composition junior Demetrius Robinson Jr, meant to represent the idea of perfection.
